The Role

Are you passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing instability?

We are seeking a Housing Specialist to join a dedicated Mobile Support team providing intensive case management and outreach support to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working alongside a supportive and experienced team committed to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable members of the community.

The position is offered as a fixed-term contract until January 2027, with the potential for extension.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same in this role.

You may be:

  • Supporting families residing in crisis accommodation
  • Engaging with people who are sleeping rough
  • Assisting clients to secure and maintain housing
  • Supporting clients with housing applications and tenancy issues
  • Accompanying clients to appointments and property inspections
  • Providing advocacy and practical support
  • Connecting clients with community services and supports
  • Completing case notes, assessments and case management documentation
  • Responding to emerging crises and changing priorities throughout the day

This role combines significant client-facing work with a strong administrative and case management focus.

About You

You will have a tertiary qualification and / or relevant experience.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Able to build rapport with a diverse range of clients
  • Comfortable working with people experiencing trauma, homelessness, mental health challenges and other complex circumstances
  • Skilled at maintaining professional boundaries

  • Organised and confident managing competing priorities
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys sharing ideas and supporting colleagues

What to Expect

This role operates in a fast-paced environment where flexibility is essential.

While your day may be planned, priorities can change quickly in response to client needs and emerging situations. The ability to adapt, think on your feet and remain calm under pressure is important.

You will work with people experiencing a range of challenges including homelessness, trauma, mental ill-health, family breakdown, financial hardship and social isolation.

While the work can be challenging, it is also incredibly rewarding and offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in people’s lives.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • SCHADS Level 5.1 – SCHADS 5.1 $100,783PA + 12% Super + Not-for-profit salary packaging benefits
  • Full-time position
  • Monday to Friday
  • Standard hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • Monthly Accrued Day Off (ADO)
  • Option to work a 9-day fortnight
  • Fleet vehicles provided for work-related travel
  • Supportive leadership and team environment
  • Ongoing professional support and collaboration
  • Potential for contract extension beyond January 2027

Compliance Requirements

Successful applicants will require:

  • Current Driver Licence
  • Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
  • National Police Check
