Kurbingui Youth & Family Development is a proud Aboriginal – Community Organisation based on Turrbal Country in North Brisbane, Yuggera Country in South Brisbane and Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi Country in Moreton Bay, with programs and services expanding across Southeast Queensland.

About the Program – Yadeni Tago
- Combined Family and Child Connect (Combined FaCC) (Indigenous and non-Indigenous Family and Child Connect Program)
The Combined Family and Child Connect for the Greater Brisbane region is delivered by Kurbingui Youth and Family Development. This integrated model within our Community is called “Yadeni Tago” which is Turrbal language for “Advancing Together”. The program acknowledges the strengths of a diverse and multi-skilled team and has been a great opportunity for all team members to share their skills and knowledge including working with families using various culturally safe frameworks, approaches, and practice for Indigenous, non-Indigenous, and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse families. Yadeni Tago staff are committed to maintain professional and culturally safe environments for both staff and families they work with.
The Combined FaCC is a Queensland Government-funded initiative aimed at ensuring vulnerable families and children have access to high-quality services at the right time to support them to maintain the family unit.
The Role
The primary purpose of the role is to provide quality service through the assessment and recommendation of culturally appropriate responses comprising all aspects of intake, engagement, assessment, information, advice and referral to support services within a time-limited period.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake intake, screening, and comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate responses for children and families
- Gather and analyse information to assess risk, safety, and support needs, including consultation with relevant frameworks and stakeholders
- Provide high-quality information, advice, referrals, and active linkages to internal and external support services
- Deliver short-term casework support, including “case holding” and brief interventions for families with complex needs
- Apply strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to engage families and support positive outcomes
- Work within child protection frameworks, including applying relevant guidelines and escalating risk where required
- Collaborate with internal team members, partner agencies, and specialist services (including DFV supports) to ensure coordinated service responses
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, service providers, and support networks
- Facilitate culturally safe and responsive engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities
- Participate in community engagement activities and contribute to service visibility and accessibility
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case notes, data entry, reporting, and documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement, team planning, and professional development activities
Role Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in case management, intake, or family support within community services
- Strong knowledge of child protection systems, risk assessment, and referral pathways
- Proven ability to engage and build trust with individuals and families experiencing complex and high-level needs
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously, and exercise sound judgement
- Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholders
- Commitment to culturally safe, respectful, and inclusive practice
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, including case documentation and reporting
Probity Requirements
- Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or related field
- You have (or can obtain) a Positive Notice Blue Card, First Aid and CPR, Criminal History check, NDIS Worker Screen Check and a current Queensland Driver’s License.
Remuneration and Benefits
- SCHADS Level 4 – $88,099.44 – $94,791.84 per year + 12% super
