Our Client is Australia’s leading child rights organisation, who provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident. 

Our client is seeking the next leader of their Youth Services in Kalkadoon Country, Mount Isa. 

The Role 

We are recruiting for a Team Leader – Youth Services. This role is Full Time, working 38 hours per week Monday-Friday. Hours will generally be 8:30am – 4:30pm, with the requirement to change depending on business needs. 

The role is a Fixed Term Contract, funded until the end of June 2025 with potential for extension depending on funding. 

The role will be located in Mount Isa, QLD. Work will be based from a central office location, with some outreach supports and in-field staff supervision where required. 

The successful candidate will be part of the Family and Youth Services team, and will report to the Regional Manager. They will play a key role helping create lasting change for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities 

• Overseeing the day-to-day operational and administrative requirements of Youth Services
• Travelling to all sites to support the delivery and evaluation of programs
• Ensuring contractual obligations are met via quality management, reporting, data collection and measuring deliverables
• Providing staff supervision, development, and accurate case management guidance 
• Stakeholder engagement 

To Be Successful

• Demonstrated experience in working with young people in contact with the youth justice system, children and families, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities; including experience working in rural and remote settings
• Experience managing and leading high-performing teams with a focus on performance, learning and team development
• Experience working with children and young people using a strengths-based and trauma informed approach to achieve agreed outcomes
• Knowledge of child protection issues and commitment to upholding the child protection processes

Other requirements

• Degree in a relevant human services field and/or significant equivalent experience
• Current Blue Card 
• Ability to pass a National Police Check 
• Drivers License Class ‘C’ (Open)

Salary and Benefits

• $53.84 per hour – $106,407.60 per annum + Super + Salary Sacrifice
