The Role 

We currently have Speech Pathology roles available across Ipswich, Toowoomba, Caboolture, Nambour, Currimundi and Hervey Bay / Maryborough – with potential for further locations to be available soon.

If work / life balance is your motivation for considering a new role – the positions are available on a Full Time or Part Time basis. There is flexibility to work school hours, or even a compressed working week (such as 40 hours across 4 days).

In this role, you will work with a varied caseload, including children and adults with neurological, sensory and physical impairments. Support and mentoring is available to ensure your ongoing development across all areas of speech pathology.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Operate across a 5/2 model – 5 billable hours, and 2 hours of admin work per day
  • Provide specialist clinical services to clients with complex and critical needs
  • Independently manage a varied caseload of both children and adults with neurological, sensory and physical impairments. Majority of patients will be pediatric
  • Provide outreach supports to acute and rehabilitation wards for patients with communication and swallowing difficulties who are experiencing stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, dementia and other neurological issues
  • Independently assess clients using informal and standardised clinical assessment tools, and complete detailed clinical reports independently
  • Work with patients to develop strategies and programs to achieve therapy goals
  • Document therapy outcomes, Medicare and NDIS reporting using Cliniko (patient record system)
  • Complete Dysphagia assessment and develop mealtime management plans
  • Trial and recommend AAC devices
  • Develop and provide education to family, carers, teachers etc on strategies to improve client’s development and independence
  • Work closely with management and colleagues on professional development, service quality and best practice

 

To Be Successful

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology
  • Professional registration in Speech Therapy
  • Willingness to travel between locations
  • Eligible for a Medicare provider number
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills and proficient computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills

 

Requirements

  • Police check – both national and or international, where applicable
  • Working with Children Check 
  • Professional registration/s EG:. SPA
  • NDIS Screening Check
  • Current driver licence

 

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary range from $90,000 – $115,000 PA + 11.5% Super (salary is dependent on experience)
