Our Client is a large Community Service and Allied Health organisation, with a vision to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities through compassionate, personalised support services.

 

The Role 

We currently have Psychology roles available in both Toowoomba and Caboolture – with potential for further locations to be available soon.

If work / life balance is your motivation for considering a new role – the positions are available on a Full Time or Part Time basis. There is flexibility to work school hours, or even a compressed working week (such as 40 hours across 4 days).

In this role, you will deliver mental health psychology assessment and therapy services, to optimise psycho-social outcomes for clients who present with severe and complex mental health problems and disorders. The role also provides consultancy, education, and community services within the coverage areas.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide psychological services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management for clients with complex needs
  • Administer assessments and create intervention plans based on best practices and regulatory standards
  • Offer individual and group-based psychological treatment and counselling
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement harm minimization strategies, providing referrals as needed
  • Maintain communication with internal and external professionals to ensure effective program execution
  • Write assessment and program reports while ensuring client confidentiality
  • Use a holistic approach to health, integrating community and organisational priorities
  • Provide accurate information to clients to help them make informed decisions about care
  • Support clients in developing and reviewing service plans to ensure they reflect their goals
  • Participate in case management as part of a multidisciplinary team, addressing care integration, crisis response, and stakeholder engagement
  • Engage clients and families in psychological assessments and interventions
  • Follow established protocols, exercising clinical judgment in more complex cases
  • Provide clinical supervision to students and junior staff within professional guidelines
  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with relevant policies and legislation
  • Follow person-centred support frameworks and be a resource on mental health care
  • Ensure timely reporting to managers and coordination with stakeholders

 

To Be Successful

  • Tertiary education in Psychology (Psychology qualifications must meet full independent practice requirements)
  • Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and AHPRA are required 
  • Knowledge and ability to use evidence-based psychometric assessment tools, including the capacity to provide psycho-educational and therapeutic group programs to parents, children and family groups
  • Willingness to travel between locations
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills and proficient computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills

 

Requirements

  • Police check – both national and or international, where applicable
  • Working with Children Check 
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates 
  • Professional registration/s with PBA and AHPRA
  • NDIS Screening Check
  • Current driver licence

 

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary range from $100,000 – $115,000 PA + 11.5% Super (with flexibility to negotiate higher for extensive experience)
