The Role:

The Case Worker position is a part-time role working 3 days a week, and is based in Rockhampton and Capricornia. The office is based in Rockhampton and will require travel out to the correctional centre in Capricornia. The role involves co-facilitating groupwork and assessment fostering harm reduction and education to mandated clients. You’ll be providing a therapeutic approach to support clients and their needs across all stages of substance abuse. 

The position is funded until 30th of June 2025 with possibility of extension. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver psychoeducation group facilitation to persons in custody or under community supervision to address substance use and related issues.
  • Provide pre and post testing sessions to identify goals and psychosocial issues, discharge/post treatment
  • Flexibly meet clients’ and needs varying including ways to maximise participation such as outreach, and hours of operation.
  • Respond to the method of use and associated risk factors, in recognition of the fact that drug use trends change rapidly.

  • Have an understanding or experience in group dynamics, group facilitation and the delivery of alcohol and other drug psychoeducation in group settings.
  • Be committed to providing quality programs and excellent services and support that represent leadership and innovation

Additional Requirements:

  • Relevant Diploma Qualification within Community Services minimum
  • Experience working with AOD/Mental Health clients preferred – or extensive exposure within a Community Services role
  • Hold a valid Australian Driver’s License
  • Hold a valid Blue Card (paid)
  • Must be COVID-19 Vaccinated (1 dose minimum)
