The Role
We are hiring highly experienced Residential Youth Workers to assist with a variety of shifts in Kallangur and Moreton Bay region. The role may be up to 32 hours of work each week however is dependent on worker availability and client needs.
ProCare Australia is supporting a lead Residential Out of Home Care provider and is seeking highly experienced Residential Youth Workers to support their ongoing roster.
The role will support complex to extreme children and young people subject to child protection orders and it is essential the Residential Youth Workers hold completed qualification in Youth Work or similar, have experience working within therapeutic and trauma informed frameworks, has flexible hours available and is passionate about Residential Youth Work.
Shifts will be offered according to preferences, skills and experience.
Residential Youth Workers must have availability for sleepover shifts and weekend shifts.
Pay Rates & Benefits
- Base salary is paid between $48.03 – $53.85 per hour plus super
- Night and public holiday penalty rates on top of the base rate
- QLeave available for qualifying employees
- Staff are supported by experienced Rostering Consultants
Location
South East Queensland – North Brisbane.
To Be Successful:
- Minimum completed Certificate IV level qualification in a Youth / Community Service related field or close to completion of a Degree qualification, with placement experience
- Hope and Healing Certificate
- A current LCS check (to support those in licensed care services) or willing to obtain
- Extensive experience as a Residential Youth Worker is essential
- Extensive experience working with Children and Young People with complex and challenging behaviours
- Developed understanding of trauma and attachment theories
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills, including report writing / case notes
- Current Australian Driver’s License
- Current Blue Card (Paid)
- Current National Police Check (Within 12 Months)
- Current First Aid (completed within the last 3 years) and CPR Certificate (completed within the last 12 months)
- A vehicle with full comprehensive car insurance
- Regular availability for day, sleepover and weekend shifts
Highly Desirable:
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) trained
- Youth Mental Health First Aid
- Experience working with Indigenous and CALD client
